Professor (Dr.) Zafor Md. Masud is a leading Cancer Specialist (Medical Oncologist) in Bangladesh with more than 23 years of clinical experience and 19 years of teaching experience in oncology. He currently serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Oncology at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, and leads the Medical Education Unit of Bangladesh Medical College.

Dr. Masud earned his MBBS from Dhaka University in 1998, followed by an MPhil from BSMMU in 2004, and FCPS from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2007. He completed advanced training with a clinical fellowship in Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre (NCC), Singapore (2005–2006), alongside specialized programs in Palliative Medicine and Oncology Pharmacy.

Throughout his career, Dr. Masud has held key academic and clinical positions, progressing from Assistant Registrar to Professor of Oncology at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital. His extensive teaching background has contributed to the development of many young oncologists in the country.

A passionate researcher, Dr. Masud has authored numerous publications in national and international journals, covering areas such as breast cancer, lung cancer, pain management in cancer patients, and palliative care. His work is widely referenced, especially his contributions on male breast cancer, head & neck cancers, and oncology-related diagnostic evaluations.

Dr. Masud is deeply involved in national and international professional organizations. He is a member of ASCO, ESMO, the Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network, and various leading medical societies in Bangladesh. He also serves in important leadership roles including Vice President of the National Palliative Care Association of Bangladesh, editorial board member of the Bangladesh Medical College Journal. As an examiner of the Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons since 2014, Dr. Masud continues to contribute to the advancement of medical education and oncology training in Bangladesh.

Beyond his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Masud is an author of multiple patient-friendly health guides, including “Your Chemotherapy Guide,” “Essentials of Medicine,” and “Cancer e Susthota (Living with Cancer)”, aimed at improving cancer awareness and supporting patients on their healing journey. He is also the Founder Member and Adviser of Shanti Cancer Foundation, and the Editor & Publisher of the health magazine Sastho Shoily

Through his clinical work, teaching, and patient support activities, Prof. Masud is dedicated to advancing cancer care and improving the lives of cancer patients in Bangladesh.

I am Dr Zafar Chowdhury. I am a Bangladeshi doctor practicing as a GP in the UK and a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. I am also very closely involved in postgraduate GP education and training and have been appointed as a GP trainer by the North West Deanery since 2011.

I currently run a community-based health service with an excellent team of clinicians, including doctors and nurses, in the North West of England. We pride ourselves in the delivery of palliative care in the community, which forms an integral part of our day-to-day clinical roles. All of us believe that every human being deserves dignity, respect, and optimum comfort in the last days of their lives.

In the UK, we primarily deliver palliative care by means of a team of trained professionals, including nurses and doctors, who endeavour to provide a robust and holistic service. We believe this is best achieved in the patients’ own homes, where they have the comfort of their own beds and are amidst their loved ones in the last days of their lives.

Even here in the UK, it has taken more than a decade to shift the delivery of palliative care from a hospital-based concept into the community. However, this is something that is currently done very well in the National Health Service in the UK.

My vision is to replicate this for Bangladesh, and I am keen to engage with a clinical team with a similar vision to enable us to establish this together.

Dr. Zohra Jamila Khan is a distinguished Bangladeshi pediatric hemato-oncologist with more than two decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience in childhood cancer care. She currently serves as the Professor and Acting Head of the Department of Pediatric Hemato-Oncology at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where she leads clinical services, oversees academic training, and guides multidisciplinary teams dedicated to improving outcomes for children with blood disorders and cancer.

Dr. Khan completed her MBBS and DCH from Chittagong Medical College, followed by the prestigious MD in Pediatric Hematology & Oncology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Her academic excellence and commitment to evidence-based pediatric oncology have made her one of the leading specialists in the country. She began her professional journey at the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital (NICRH) as a Medical Officer (2007–2011), later joining Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she rose through the ranks from Associate Professor (2011–2019) to Professor and eventually Acting Head (2019–Present) of the department. Over the years, Dr. Khan has played an instrumental role in developing clinical protocols, mentoring young physicians, and advocating for improved pediatric cancer care in Bangladesh. Her work reflects a passion for compassionate service, patient-centered care, and continuous medical advancement. Outside her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Khan is engaged in counseling, motivation, and empowerment activities aimed at supporting patients and families coping with childhood cancer. She continues to inspire colleagues, students, and families through her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to improving pediatric oncology services nationwide.

Md. Shahnawaz Khan Chandan is an education professional and academician currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education and Research (IER) in Bangladesh. With a strong foundation in pedagogy and educational development, he has been actively engaged in teaching and academic activities since 2019.

Mr. Chandan completed both his B.Ed. (Honours) and M.Ed. degrees from the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of Dhaka, one of the country’s most prestigious institutions for teacher education and educational research.

Known for his dedication to teaching, he focuses on innovative learning methods, student-centered instruction, and professional development in education. His academic interests and contributions reflect his commitment to improving teaching quality and shaping future educators.

Zeina Hamid is a dedicated professional with diverse experience in administration, human capital development, and mental health support. She began her academic journey in Singapore, completing a B.Sc. in Life Sciences from the National University of Singapore (NUS), followed by a Certificate of Proficiency in Information System Management (CPISM) from APTECH Computer Education, equipping her with strong analytical and technical skills.

Her career includes significant international experience, particularly in Singapore’s corporate and hospitality sectors. Zeina served as a Human Capital Development Administrator at Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts Ltd. (2012–2014), where she contributed to employee development, training coordination, and HR operational management. She later worked as a Marina Sales & Administration Manager at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club (2014–2016), overseeing administrative operations, sales support, customer relations, and membership services.

Nasrin Hossain is a highly accomplished banking professional with a robust 18-year career emphasizing expertise in Credit Operation and General Banking. Since 2005, she has been a key figure at Mercantile Bank Limited, Karwan Bazar Branch, serving as the Assistant Vice President and Credit Incharge. Her responsibilities in this role are comprehensive: she supervises all officers in the Credit Department, ensures the department’s smooth functioning and the provision of excellent customer service, and maintains strict compliance with credit guidelines and regulatory reporting. Crucially, she leads and guides the Credit Administration and recovery teams, oversees the completion of documentation and legal formalities, and serves as the Custodian of all security documents against loans and advances. Before this long tenure, she worked as an Officer at Uttara Finance & Investment Ltd from 2002 to 2003, where she handled client management, credit proposal analysis, and necessary documentation. Academically, she holds an MBA with a Major in Finance from the Asian University of Bangladesh and a Bachelor (Hons.) of Social Science in Economics.

Md. Nazmus Sakib is a dedicated pharmaceutical professional with a strong academic background and extensive experience in Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical industry. He holds an M.Pharm degree from the State University of Bangladesh and a B.Pharm degree from the International Islamic University Chittagong, building a solid foundation in pharmaceutical science, drug safety, and patient-centered healthcare.

Throughout his career, he has served in key leadership roles in renowned pharmaceutical companies. At Synovia Pharma PLC, he worked as a Senior District Manager, where he led teams, managed operations, and ensured high-quality service delivery. Later, he joined Healthcare Pharmaceuticals as a Key Account Manager, focusing on strengthening professional relationships, overseeing key business portfolios, and driving strategic growth.
